Edsberg, Søren

Søren Edsberg,born 1945, is a Danish-born American painter. 

Hewas the son of Knud Edsberg who was also a painter. First Knud andthen Soren joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints(LDS Church) in 1961.

Manyof Edsberg's works are of farm animals. He has also made severalabstract works, including ones in which he inscribed verses ofscripture on the art work. One of his more widely acclaimed works wasentitled "The Course of Life".

Edsbergis married to Johnna, a convert to the LDS Church whom he met whileshe was studying at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen. Theyhave seven children.

In1987 Edsberg immigrated to the United States and became an adjunctprofessor at Brigham Young University. He also was involved inproducing videos for educational and medical purposes. He alsooperates the Hope Gallery of art in Salt Lake City. He also operatesa branch of the gallery in Provo, Utah.
